English translation of "Tsugi ni Aeta Toki Nani wo Hanasou Ka na?" (What should we talk about the next time we meet?) lyrics (Japanese lyrics)

    Lyrics: Sashihara Rino
    Composition: Tanabe Nozomi, Nagasawa Chiaki
    Arrangement: Yuasa Atsushi
    MV director: Nakazato Kosuke

If nothing happened we'd meet tomorrow.
I was looking forward to it for a long time.
    Sad events, hard days,
And feelings that I have endured are now reappearing.

    I understand that it's not anyone's fault,
The letter to you is getting longer.
Let the whirling words become petals.
Yes, I'll deliver a big bouquet to you.

What should we talk about the next time we meet?
I'm alone now, thinking about you all the time.
A sorrowful spring without creek just overflows.
Even if we can't meet I keep on loving you.

I try to do house cleaning after early rise on Sunday.
    Somehow clean rooms feel lonely.
I wonder if you were singing somewhere
The same melody I was humming.

Suddenly I've realized that surroundings became orange.
I used to hate this house with windows facing West.
    But I forgot even that
(Ah) With my weekends usually filled with you.

Let's collect all the pieces of the broken heart.
It will surely become a dazzling light.
Let's squint our eyes from strong radiance and move forward.
In times when we can't meet
Let's raise our love with care.

On a days filled with tears
    Look at the night sky.
    That star that glitters
    Without losing to surroundings
    Is a present to you
    Who works so hard.

Where are you and what are you thinking now?
    I always think of you.
    Let's clean an overflowing spring.
Even when I can't meet you
    I keep on loving you.

In case anyone else wanted a side-by-side comparison between Kimi to Watashi no Uta and Kimi to Boku no Uta. It seems I was right in my assumption that the song is about the same thing but from two different perspectives – in this case, Kimi to Watashi no Uta is from the idol's perspective and Kimi to Boku no Ita is from the wota's perspective

You're right  I'm confused as to why because boku is a male pronoun and watashi is gender neutral, so I'm confused why they used the male I for the song from the idol's perspective

Same. Is it some sort of pun intended? Maybe it's too genius for our understanding haha

Love both songs anyway, especially Noimi's. But the idea of giving each of them a song about the bonds between idols and their fans, that mirror each other, is really smart.

when I was translating, I found this "mismatch" strange too. the conclusion I came up with is that, since Sasshi loves writing double-layered lyrics she added another layer to an apparent female idol/male fan perspectives, so "Kimi to Boku no Uta" is actually a song from male idol to female fan and "Kimi to Watashi no Uta" is vice versa from female fan to male idol (but I think it could be from any fan to any idol).

apart from "boku", there are actually other words that hint on a more manly perspective of a male idol in "Kimi to Boku no Uta": "I'm fighting, challenging", "I'll take you to a big stage", "I won't forget that regret and will become stronger", "I'll sing fearlessly", "I will be able to dash pressing B-button" (gaming is more boyish), "I'll become your hope and will save you". unlike "Kimi to Watashi no Uta" that is very neutral, the whole tone of "Kimi to Boku no Uta" is much more manly and assertive.

Using a proxy address I have in Japan, yesterday I placed orders for several members but I only won one which was for Nonno although she is my second-favourite in the group. I've just made payment and entered my name details which will go on the post card for her to sign. Over the coming weeks I'll let you all know how it goes!

I’ve never visited this thread before but yeah I’m planning to do more :) Let me know if I can use your English translations for the songs so I don’t have to directly translate it. I’ll credit you.

I’m currently doing the sports fest, hope I can finish it asap. We badly need timers, typesetters and encoders.
