Isn't the more important point of that video the fact that Gaki is graduating? (Meaning Sayumi will be leader ) And the fact that C-ute's song is more mature than MM's

I love how everybody was talking about how after Ai graduated this was Gaki's big moment, her time to shine, she's going to be an awesome leader, she'll make MoMusu relevant again, blah blah blah... She's leader for like all of five minutes then gives up. At least now I feel justified in never liking her. Sayumi will do much better than her, at least she's dedicated to the group and the fans. Gaki stopped giving a shit about Morning Musume years ago.
I think that's unfair. Let's take a look at the current group (the first number is the age) 23 Risa Niigaki (2001–) 22 Sayumi Michishige (2003–) 22 Reina Tanaka (2003–) 18 Aika Mitsui (2006–) 15 Mizuki Fukumura (2011–) 14 Erina Ikuta (2011–) 13 Riho Sayashi (2011–) 13 Kanon Suzuki (2011–) 17 Haruna Iikubo (2011–) 14 Ayumi Ishida (2011–) 12 Masaki Satō (2011–) 12 Haruka Kudō (2011–) So, not only Risa is the last member of her generation and two years older than the second and third older members, but she also is the leader of a group with an average age of 16.25. That means she's more than six years 'too old' so I can't blame her for thinking she's too old to be the next leader of MM. Of course, I think that Reina and Sayumi will leave soon, too, so the most likely scenario is Aika as the leader in one or two years...
Okay. That's more than kind of bitchy. Are you saying that anyone that graduates is "giving up"? It seems like her goals aren't the same as Morning Musume's now, and she's leaving so both sides can get what they want. Most likely she knows some thing we don't about the future of MM/H!P and is making an intelligent decision.

According to a statement (can't remember where though), Gaki wanted to graduate with Ai but management told her to stay to bring the new members in. This either means management have great faith in her leadership skills or no faith in Sayu's. [notme]
Maybe I change my mind when the whole PV is out, but it seems to me like they had done the minimum required trusting in the 'old members' effect...
↑ Well with the current Morning Musume its really hopeless to compete with AKB48 that's why Tsunku is trying to revive the dormant power of the golden age members. But he'll fail but I'm grateful I get to see Kusumi again.
I don't care how bitchy it sounds, that's the way I'm seeing it play out. As you said, it's possible she knows something we don't, and if that story about her wanting to graduate with Ai-chan is true then my entire argument is invaild. But to clarify, I'm not saying anyone who graduates is giving up. When Ai-chan was graduating I was in full support of her. She put a LOT of work in to Morning Musume and crawled her way to the top because of her talent and dedication. However, there wasn't really anywhere to go from there. She had "beaten the game" if you will, and it was her time to move on. I, like a lot of people, had faith in Risa because she had been there with Aichan through out the whole thing. I didn't expect her to decide a couple months later that she was bored of Morning Musume and thought she could do better at acting, especially after Aichan who had spent all those years working hard as leader of Morning Musume trusted her to do a good job leading them. If she wanted to graduate, why wait until she's made leader? However, if the story about her wanting to graduate with Aichan is true, then once again it's reinforced in my mind that UFA has absolutely no idea how to manage idols and is just bullshiting their way through this. More likely then not, they realized the big money to be earned with graduations (they milked Aichan fans for every last cent when she graduated with all the collectible "goods") and wanted to repeat the process with Risa.

I find the PV unbearable to what I remember Morning Musume is. From the cool image to this.... ah what can we call this [think] . So much has changed from the Ai-chan lead MoMusu I follow some years ago. I think i'll try to channel my frustration to watching Dream Morning Musume at least I can now see Kusumi again.
