Episode 2 Preview

 

The current episode (and the next one) traces the root of the Mix:
- When does it begin?
- Where does it begin?
- Who came up with it?
- What was it intended?
- What does it mean?

With my limited Japanese knowledge, here is what I got from today's show:
- It was first created by a group consisting of 5 men in 1990s (forgot the exact year), then it keeps evolved and there has been 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation Mixer (all the names were revealed, but somehow I forgot each one of them)
- It was first intended for hard rock and heavy metal genre
- AKB debuted in December 2015, definitely no mix or any call back then, but around January 2016 (meaning just about 1 month later), the mix can already be heard on an AKB show

Fans and idols know those mixes damn well, but nobody seems to know where they came from and what they mean

I wouldn't mind translating a few episodes over my holidays (February-March) but is there anyone who would be willing to time them? I really can't be bothered with timing

That's very useful, thanks! I haven't checked if anyone has done it yet or not (though probably not, considering how little of Nemousu gets subbed) but I'm most interested in subbing the 16th gen vs D3 sport test for a start. It starts halfway through 6th episode though so I'm not sure what to do about the card thing in 5th and 6th, I'm not that interested in translating it but it would be also weird to start halfway through an episode or start with 6th but not do the 5th which is the beginning of the card thing

I'll keep you in mind then! I'll let you know when I got some translation done and need someone to time it, but hopefully it will be sometime during this month

 

Ah, these are the episodes I am actually looking forward to the most. Nothing beats sports festivals.
Regarding ep 6, it would indeed be weird to only sub half of the episode (for softsubs, when doing hardsubs/streaming you could just cut the card throwing part), but I guess just a heads up at the beginning that the subs will only start at minute xx:xx should do the trick.

Although the Satopii + Rei part only takes 10 minutes and comes with a recap in the beginning, so if you translate that as well it shouldn't take too long and I don't think ep 5 would be required.
