lol she really didn't look impressed.
Second time they've done that challenge, they failed first time too. I guess small female asian idols don't carry around much water weight to cut.

Maachun isn't even on the chubby side, i already knew they'd fail this one, though some may find these diet challenges not worth it, i think it's great IMO, these activities puts the girls in shape either they want it or not

Nah its just pure water weight. Next time they eat they'll put it straight back on. It's the reason Boxers / MMA fighters do it. they cut weight to be in a lower weight class, then they put it back on after the weigh in to give themselves the advantage by being bigger than their opponent. problem is, as everyone does it, cutting weight is of no advantage to anyone really. Although some fighters do cut 10lbs or more the day before a fight (5kg) which on smaller fighters can be a large advantage if their opponent doesn't cut much.

well, it's a disadvantage if you don't do it.

it's also an advantage to someone who's coming in from a bigger weight class and stepping down to a smaller one. it's easier to be 180, cut to 150, then get back to 180 than it is to start at 140, gain to 180, cut to 150, then get back to 180.


boxer maachun is still awesome as hell

I cant speak for boxing because there's so many weight classes it boggles my mind, but in MMA moving up a weight class is a big decision. Everyone tends to cut down, so people who are natural middleweights fight at welterweight etc. So unless someone really cuts down a lot (Rumble Johnson tends to cut down 2 weight classes worth) it doesn't actually give you an advantage.

and yeah, she looked like had a lot more clue than the other girls. Rii-chan mentioned last week how she's a fan of boxing (even talking about one of the title fights) but claims she can't do it. I wonder if Macchun watches it too.

That's still really good they got to the second round. They'd be competing against all the actual geinin combis too, so that makes it quite impressive. Hope to see a lot more nmb manzai stuff.

Yup she's in. and she got in ahead of Span's Makoto. one part of the combi that presented the TV show I appeared on (for 5 seconds) they did a documentary thing about us. Funny guys.

Maybe they were judged separately, and are put into different teams each round to test them? I've honestly no idea.

Seems that she was eliminated in the 3rd round. If she'd made it through she would have been in the semi finals. That's an awesome achievement for a first time entrant, and especially an idol one against all those yoshimoto comedians. Hope they'll support her more and give her some comedy work to do, obviously she has the skills for it.
