Slight revise to my list because...the graduation of one idol from idoldom and a couple raising the bar... 01. Iwasa Misaki ( former AKB48/soloist) (--) 02. Sawabe Rion (Tokyo CLEARS/former Ebisu Muscats) (--) 03. Aoba Hinari (FES☆TIVE) (--) 04. Yakata Miki (SKE48) (--) (Top 4 unchanged) 05. Hatakeyama Chisaki (former SDN48/soloist) (+2) 06. Matsumura Kaori (SKE48) (+2) (Both move up because of handshake experiences going to next level, especially Kaotan) 07. Hashimoto Kanna (Rev. from DVL/soloist) (+3) 08. Yazawa Erika (former Idoling!!!/gravure idol) (-2) (she just hasn't been doing much) 09. Tani Marika (SKE48) (--) 10. Yamato Sayuri (Tokyo CLEARS) (new) (Sayuri tried very hard to fish me early on, and I could tell she was disappointed when I chose Rion as my favorite member. Still she is always extremely nice and attentive toward me when I go to CLEARS events) Honorable Mention: Hidaka Yuzuki (SKE48) (My experience with Yuzuki this week proves that the kami handshakes I had with her in the Spring were no fluke. She was just as awesome as before!) Out of Ranking: --. Araki Himeri ( former Alice Project) (Sadly, Himeri bailed on Alice Project after being passed over yet again for promotion to Steam Girls. Good luck Himeri!!!)
Sept. 2016 Rankings 1. Watanabe Kaede (Starmarie) (+2) 2. Hashimoto Kanna (Rev. from DVL) (+2) 3. Noda Hitomi (Ready to Kiss) (+4) 4. Denya Erika (Babyraids JAPAN) (-2) 5. Erica (Electric Ribbon) (--) 6. Iida Sakurako (Tokyo Performance Doll) (--) 7. Masui Mio (PASSPO☆) (-2) 8. Watanabe Kurumi (Ange☆Reve) (--) 9. Kimoto Nozomi (solo) (--) 10. Chono Masami (OS☆U) (-1) Dropped: Watanabe Miyuki (NMB48) - graduated Taguchi Miiro (Akishibu Project) - I haven't really found an oshi in Akishibu that I can really support. Kamiya Erina (Alice Project - Steam Girls) - I haven't followed her much this year. Yokoyama Ami (PPP! PiXiON) - she just didn't reach top 10 this time. Lots of changes for me. Erica from Eribon is someone I can approach and talk to so she should rank. Rakochan from TPD is someone who I immediately liked after seeing several performances from the group. Kurumi should have made the list last time but 10 other girls got in her way. Kimoto Nozomi is one of the solo idols that I follow now.

Found this thread in the depths of Idol Emporium and the last contribution is over 5 years ago. Would be fun to revive it! Here's my ranking, including both graduated and current idols. My list is based on who I think is a perfect idol, not necessarily a list of how much I like them. Sorry that my knowledge of idols is very limited to certain groups... lol For me, the perfect idol is someone who takes her job/career as an idol seriously and cares about her image and the image of the group she's in. Bonus points if she knows her strengths and relishes in those (dancing, singing, letting her personality shine). I also really love the cutesy type with lots of frills, ribbons, pink colours, etc. I know some people have a different definition, hence my explanation. Miyawaki Sakura (former HKT48/LE SSERAFIM) Watanabe Mayu (ex AKB48) Jennie (BLACKPINK) Honda Hitomi (AKB48) Saito Nagisa (former =LOVE) Oshima Yuko (ex AKB48) Saito Asuka (former Nogizaka46) Oguri Yui (AKB48) Maeda Atsuko (ex AKB48) Otani Emiri (=LOVE) And here's my list of my favourite idols Don't expect a lot of duplicates. Spoiler Tano Yuka (ex AKB48) Kobayashi Ran (ex AKB48) Akimoto Sayaka (ex AKB48) Honda Hitomi (AKB48) Saito Nagisa (ex =LOVE) Oshima Yuko (ex AKB48) Minegishi Minami (ex AKB48) Takahashi Minami (ex AKB48) Saito Kyoko (Hinatazaka46) Kamimura Hinano (Hinatazaka46) This is not to say I don't think these girls didn't/don't take their career as seriously, but I just felt these girls weren't as well rounded? Tano Yuka is one of the most talented idols to me, amazing singer and dancer, but she wasn't great at making her fans feel special, which is important. Kobayashi Ran is the opposite, I personally think she's great at fan service but she wasn't a very skilled singer (dance was also good though!).
