As we don't have a 'Your Rocket Punch Experiences' thread I'll post this here lol. As part of the Japanese promotion for 'Bubble Up', anyone who purchased copies of the CD via the Sony-affiliated Fortune Music site could enter a lottery to win an online talk with a random member of the group. I decided to buy 6 copies in the hope of winning one talk. However I won three so I was very pleased with the 50% win rate, although two of them were for one member, Sohee, with the other one being for Suyun (both of course former PD48 members). The online talks were scheduled for today using the AKB48 WithLIVE app which to me is a little strange, AFAIK there's no management or record label connection between the groups, but I'm happy as the app is very foreigner-friendly. It was rather strange though to see the members appear in my app schedule rather than those of AKB: With each of the talks the ID check was done by English-speaking staff who were presumably Korean. Each talk was about 25 seconds long. Sohee (1st talk) Sohee immediately greeted me with "Konnichwa". I replied with "Annyeonghaseyo, I'm David from England" and she replied just with "Hello" and a heart sign. I then told her I was a big fan of the group and I told her my favourite tracks. I don't think her English is all that good but no matter, as the warning of the talk end appeared she said "Bye bye see you again I miss you" with a very lovely fingers crossed love sign. I replied with "Gamsahamnida, thank you" and that was the end. Suyun Suyun greeted me with both "Konnichwa" and "Annyeong" and I again replied by telling her my name and where I'm from. It was soon clear that she could speak rather better English than Sohee so after I had told her my favourite songs I said that I hoped the group could tour Europe next year. She said "I hope so too, I'd like to do that". Time was now coming to an end so she said "Thank You so much" with a heart sign and we exchanged goodbyes. Sohee (2nd talk) For the second talk I said to her that she's great in Rocket Punch but she was also great in PD48 and I enjoyed her performance of Blackpink's 'Boombayah' in the show. She replied with very happy surprise and then she performed the dance moves with her hands! I then said to her "See you in England?" and she said "Yes I want!" with her fingers crossed. It was then time to end, she waved at me a lot and finished with a heart sign. Her personality is definitely very bubbly and lively! I'd have preferred to win talks with my favourite members Juri and Yeonhee but no matter, it was still great fun to meet Sohee and Suyun online and wonderful to be able to talk with a couple of Kpop idols!

This vlog was so good. I think I've followed Kpop on and off for like 20 years now? This is the first time I've seen someone document a trainee's schedule. The hours are a lot, but what makes it tough is to do this for a very long time. Juri spent three months as a Kpop trainee, but there's idols who've spent years. In any case, bless Juri for creating a vlog with such an interesting topic.
