In the past two days LarmeR were on a bullying camp. The main purpose was to solidify their dancing for their live event but also to strengthen their bonds by having barbecue and sleeping together — I hope that doesn't include you, Yuasa.
He says they're one of the most close-knit groups he has seen in this past 15 years, so it probably wasn't necessary, but there was something he wanted to do during this bullying camp:

① Before the performance ask once again 'Why do you want to be an idol?'
There are many ways to make a living as a performer or an entertainer, not as an idol: being an actress, a seiyuu, a variety talent, a stage actress. But why an idol?
He says there's not a single right answer and for now anything is fine. 'I want to wear cute costumes', 'I want to be cheered', 'I love dancing', 'I want to shine', 'I've been inspired by idols', anything is fine.
But, of course, in the end the best way of thinking is to cheer people up rather than wanting to shine. He believes it's a good thing to continue being an idol while you can think that way.
They sing, dance, smile, show their lives, their way of living, interact with fans in handshakes. In return, they receive valuable time and money from their customers.
People go out of their way to come to the venue, paying a ticket that is worth one month of a mobile phone bill, to watch their concert. It's because of that people that "ordinary girls" can become "idols".
Make-up and costume artists, choreographers, voice trainers, the staff at the venue and, of course the fans. It's thanks to the support of the staff and fans that they can become idols.
That also includes the effort of their own lessons, thus being important to voice out the desire of becoming an idol. Also, by coming out together and saying it out loud you can learn about the girl's background, life and many things the other members didn't know.
As a result of doing this bullying camp, many thoughts were exchanged. Some members were crying saying that idols gave them courage during hard times. Others said 'this is all I have', despite still being in their teens they expressed such strong feelings.
They learned about the others members' lives and, as a result, he feels that the morale of the whole group increased. With all these feelings, LarmeR members will become idols on the 23rd.

② For them to tell each other what's good and not so great about the other members. This is something he also wanted to do.
He's far from being a perfect person and often reflects on that, he wanted teens and girls in their early twenties to experience the same. Nowadays, with the spread of SNS, true feelings have been drowned out. In the end, he thinks it was a very good time.
When people praise you you may think 'Oh, so I was suprisingly good at that' or you may learn something bad about you that you weren't aware of. By doing this you will become more aware of others and you will learn not to do things to others that you wouldn't want others doing to yourself.
It was so interesting that they ran well over the scheduled time, perhaps because they're from a generation that doesn't usually do this kind of stuff.
The look on their faces has changed so he's looking forward to it.

I spend 90% of my life in dancing and singing lessons, I have almost no private life, I have no money at first, I am too busy to do normal girl stuff, I have my head filled with lyrics, choreography and positions, I take care of my beauty every day and sometimes I can't eat what I want to stay in shape, but I'm still being beaten up by adults on bulletin boards even though I'm still a teenager or in my early twenties.

But I also get to dance and sing under the lights of a stage, something that other people never get to experience and I also take photos with fans wearing cute outfits and make-up and they say I look cute and when they watch our performances they say they feel better and will do their best tomorrow.
Being an idol is such a wonderful job.
He wants to support the girls who risk their lives to become idols, he thinks they're amazing and respects them. He couldn't have made such a decison when he was a teen. Idols are amazing, the best.
