Decline of casual interest or not, 2 Kami members and a 13th rank senbatsu should be able to pull better numbers than this on their fanbases alone especially with the way no3b singles are set up to spotlight your favorite girl. The sales we have been seeing lately are definitely signs of the core base weakening. The election tally this year will be interesting to see how many members' numbers drop.

Only 27k? I'm shocked.... Was expecting like 40k, I wonder if the 1 year gap is the reason.

Hoping for more promotion the few days, o that the sales will go up!

27K is because casual and mid-core fans get to download the single before it is even up on sale.. *pointing fingers at the China fans*

has nothing to do with the one year hiatus or akb48 losing fans.. it's rampant peer-sharing that's doing the damage..

I'am wonder why this is could be happen.Cause I think both Takamina and Kojiharu has a very good in Senbatsu last year..So i think both of them can rise up this single..Also the Song and PV are fairly good i think..Hopefully tommorow their sales would'be improved!!

We don't know either for sure. We can't say with any certainty any of those reasons are right or wrong.

That's a pretty low number for the first day. I hope it has a good rest of the week so it can reach at least 40k.

huh? as if it's suddenly a problem now and not a year ago? nothing has changed in that regard. Japanese still buy lots of CDs if they want to, and downloading is not the reason why this single sold 27k on the first day.

The amount of promotion for this single pales in comparison to last single, at least that one, they appeared as no3b in numerous magazines, etc etc.

When I see ppl worrying about today's sales number, I think back to when they first debut and it's like wow, they sold 8k in the first week. Sales number are dropping back to a more reasonable level where fans are not buying 10 copies, but maybe 1 or 2 types only.

I downloaded the single and bought two types for it. I highly doubt the reason was pirating. Maybe the single didn't shine as much as the previous singles. Anyways, it's the first day, maybe there was a super ultra crazy popular single which ended up releasing the same day as Kirigirisu-jin. Pretty sure it will improve.

If fans want to buy the single, they'll do it to support the group. It wouldn't matter if there are downloads online. I downloaded the single but also just bought the single. (mostly for the Takamina card )

Maybe the single will have more longevity. If they can't sell over 80k, it might be an issue tho.....

Anyway to put that into perspective, anyone have details about the bonus that come with this single? like any kind of handshake/live events lottery?

I think the regular edition comes with a photo. I have no idea about the LE though.

there's a mini-live and handshake event on saturday.
supposedly a lot of fans aren't aware of that because sony's not promoting those events as much, the announcement was only made 4 days ago.

chara-ani/theater-versions are released tomorrow/today



personally, listening to the songs they don't sound that good. the high notes in kirigirisujin are kinda ehhhhh, for some reason the choreography reminds me of one night carnival, and so far none of the b-sides have captivated me.

Part of what made AKB great before was how they were able to tower over everyone else, leading those to believe that akb could lead a revolution, but now they're just like any other group.

As far as i'm concerned, they're still towering over everybody else in # of volumes sold.
Their subunits never did that to begin with.
Besides, if you wanted revolution, we'd have to be close to sekai ni hitosu dake no hana but nope, not close yet

Yeah, oversea pirating isn't the issue, they been there for years, and all truth be told, in the grand scale of things, oversea sales don't really impact the number that big.

I was expecting 40-50K too so they can guarantee hit the 100K by the time they drop off the chart, 27K on first day, let's see how day 2 sale goes before predicting the numbers.
