Tsubaki Factory (つばきファクトリー) was revealed as a new group under Hello! Project in April 2015. Originally the line up consisted of 6 Hello! Project Kenshuusei. However 3 more members, also from H!P Kenshuusei, were added in August 2016. Former Berryz Koubou member Shimizu Saki was involved in the choosing of the members as well as the naming of the group. Along with Kobushi Factory the group is supposed to carry the spirit of Berryz Koubou who went on indefinite hiatus in March 2015. Their major debut was announced for February 2017. Yes a thread for Tsubaki!! I felt sorry for this group because they were overshadow by Kobushi.. I personally dont like their original song except for Hitorijime.. their singing were not up to par with other H!P group atm.. but they are improving I hope their debut will have more awesome songs.. They're not on my must follow list yet but I hope they are once their debut song come out.. I like Ami & Yumeno a lot.. but why did Yumeno has to go & cut her hair like that.. huhu
I was looking for one but there was none so I just thought I'll make it myself. They really didn't seem as good as Kobushi at first but they have room to improve and I think they already did it well since their formation, like their vocals are a lot better now. I think it's a good thing that they have some room to grow. Not every group starts with great vocals and awesome dance performances. When they first performed Seishun Manmannaka! it wasn't my cup of tea either but I kinda followed them anyways since Yumeno has always been a favorite Kenshuusei of mine and I wanted to see how she's doing. Kedakaku Sakihokore! and Hitorijime are much better imo and I also grew to like more of the members, not just Yumeno. So I'm still following them and I'm hoping for them to have a great major debut next year. Hopefully the songs will be really good! My theory about Yumeno's hair: After adding the 3 new members there were too many with long, straight hair so they asked for somebody to cut it. Kinda sad it had to be her since I loved her long hair. I could be wrong though and she just cut it cause she wanted to try something new. Who knows?
The title of the first out of the three A-sides of their major debut has been announced. It's a song called Just try! and it was performed for the first time during their fanclub event at the 23rd this month. Kinda hope we get to see a performance of the song during one of the upcoming Haro!Station episodes.
It's ok, I don't love it but I hope the song will grow on me sooner or later. But there will be 2 more songs one that single so there's hope that I'll instantly love one of the other songs. Dancing really improved a lot! I'm really glad they're getting better.
I changed the group picture into a new, official one. The costumes shown in that pic are the ones for Just Try!
The title for the 3rd song of their major debut has been announced and it's called Hatsukoi Sunrise. It was first performed during first concert of the Hello! Project Winter Tour on January 2nd. And their profile pictures on the official homepage have been updated too with the costumes for Hatsukoi Sunrise. Check out the individual shots here: http://www.helloproject.com/tsubakifactory/
i still dont like the song but they really step up their dance routine.. Cant wait for the other 2 songs to be perform..
My most favourite H!P song of the year I kept telling myself it's only january.. Super catchy song.. I dont even care about the rest of the single
Tsubaki is getting some really cool PV's for their debut. I have a newfound love for Uruwashi no Camelia after seeing the HaroStation edit. (I did expect a more "retro" feel to the PV though...). Overall, I think this is a solid debut, excited to see how they will continue to grow.
^I love this song, and the music video is so traditionally idol-like! Just Try! full version. It's....interesting, definitely going for the "cool vibe" (It's my least favorite song by a longshot. The chorus just falls flat for me). if the video does not show watch the video here
Tsubaki Factory debuted at #3 today with 25,712 copies! http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/js/d/2017-02-21/
Billboard figures are ~50,000. Tsubaki is more than exceeding my expectations. They really suffered from being compared to Kobushi (Just as C-ute did from being compared to Berryz) and it certainly doesn't help that they both have "Factory" in their name, but I hope this is the start of them creating their own identity as a group. I felt like up until now they were a group of girls awkwardly trying to make it work, being painfully aware that their singing was not up to par and their dancing was also lacking. The addition of the 3 members imo, really helped bring them together.
I'm glad Tsubaki has great sales.. it surprised me that they sold more than Kobushi's debut.. Hatsukoi Sunrise is a really great song.. For me, their debut single is better than Kobushi's, quality wise.. I love this whole rival thing.. it'll just push the group forward.. Kobushi is a great rival.. anyway, rank #3 oricon with 35,241 https://www.m-on-music.jp/0000189323/ rank #2 Billboard with 54,376 http://www.billboard-japan.com/d_news/detail/48063/2 them thanking the fans for #3 Oricon rank if the video does not show watch the video here they are still awkward to me kinda wish they performed Hatsukoi Sunrise instead.. but yeah Full Chorus is always bias toward Tsunku *cough*HamachanisTsunku'sfan*cough*..
