As this rig is intended for all-around use (but not gaming too much -- just Skyrim), for now I'm satisfied with its performance.
Ermmm my desktop is hp and is running Windows Vista? It's pretty old, almost 5 years and it keeps randomly shutting down and refusing to log in now :/
Guess either it means it's time to back everything up, and buy a new PC, or try to have a technician open it up and clean the insides -- it could be clogged up with too much dust -- before giving it a full-on diagnostic check. Also, periodic maintenance should've been a must (clean up and defragging), as I'm sure your Vista installation could be badly corrupted that a reinstallation might be needed. OBTW, Vista is too bloated as an operating system; being a huge improvement, Windows 7 still works wonders.
i use windows, but honestly i'm mostly on this site when i'm on my ipod. Thats also the reason why sometimes my grammer sucks because my ipod sometimes dosent type all the words i typed.
Try turning off predictive text input. Also, seeing that iPods are about the size of the Classic and they use touchscreens, it's understandable that it can be hard to type the right words in.
I installed Windows and Ubuntu dual-boot on this machine. I mostly use Windows 7 just for the convenience of having more software available, open source alternatives are either rare or underdeveloped.

Wow, didn't realize that the last time I posted here was when I had my old computer. I've since upgraded (like 2 years ago). Here's what I'm using now: Gateway FX6860 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Intel Core i7-2600 @3.40GHz 16GB RAM My monitor is a 34' Samsung SyncMaster P2770H/P2770FH. Ah I had this two or three times only had 1gb of ram though. I've gone through a few netbooks in the past year or two i shouldn't be allowed to own them tbh haha. My last one I either stepped on or crushed with my own hand. I think it was the latter
haha yeah, must be very careful when you have a netbook,, back then i accidently broke the monitor and it takes much to repair it
