The group, established in 2005, currently consists of four teams, Team A, Team K, Team B and Team 4. There is also a trainee team, Research Students, compiled of replacement members and summing up a total of 90 members as of July, 2012. Currently, they hold the record of having the highest overall single sales of a female group on the Oricon charts. SDN48 is a idol group produced by Akimoto Yasushi and signed under Universal Music. SDN48 is known to be the mature version of AKB48 with members aged 20 and above, they perform in the AKB48 theater throughout the week. The group's members are currently divided into 1st Generation, 2nd Generation and 3rd Generation. All the members graduated from the group on March 31, 2012.
