[[AKB48]] is the creation of legendary producer [[Akimoto Yasushi]], a female theatre-based Idol group set in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akihabara Akihabara] where their theatre resides, created in 2005 and currently signed under [http://www.kingrecords.co.jp/akb48/ King Records]. AKB48 holds the Guinness World Record for being the world's "largest pop group". Currently, it consists of four teams: [[Team A]] with 15 members, [[Team K]], [[Team B]], and [[Team 4]] with 16 members, summing up to a total of 63 members as of June 14, 2012. There is also a trainee team, [[Research Students]], compiled of replacement members.
