Re: THE AKB48 thread! They've been advertising the tutoring school thing for a while now, they gave away free erasers with the advertisements for it at the Seibu Dome concerts. If you signed up your got a free AKB diary. (For those who don't know, Japan is notorious for being OBSESSED with forcing children to study far too hard for ridiculously difficult exams to even get into high schools, let alone universities. Though once you're in university it's an absolute holiday... too bad the suicide rate implies a lot of kids never find that out thanks to the stress of the exams beforehand)

Re: THE AKB48 thread! It should be kept in mind that AKB48's popularity is because they're the current "trend" in Japan, so it's a bit different to having "fans for life" who'd rate you as their #1. As said a lot of those artists have been around forever so have a "real" fanbase, as opposed to the massive amounts of casual fans AKB has at the moment (who will eventually get over it and move onto the next big thing).

Well, for an idol group to be 11th place for 20,000 people surveyed is quite high because surveys are usually conducted with the most diverse people in mind so that most demographics will be covered. AKB fans are mostly composed of teenagers and below 30 and lets not forget most of them are guys and the others on the list are godlike status already in Japanese media. So, I say 11th place is damn high. Let's party [party] .

His style is really similar to the classic ring entrance themes used by New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling back in the 90's when both promotions were on fire. This would be great music for the girls to enter the arena for Janken Taikai.
