I think it's absolutely insane that Hanachanzu only have one song together. They were Hinata's first unit (Lima Cantik was during Hiragana) and even had a live show together, you'd think S&F would give them at least another song? They could have been Hinata's version of Yuichanzu. Or how about giving Miipan/Katoshi/Kyoko another song together since they're the best singers in the group? I already complained about this in one of the singles threads, but S&F's obsession with generation songs is ridiculous.

As I thought, they're stagnating. A mere 300 copies rise since their first album is not good, since that came before 3ki. Management really needs to reconsider what they're doing with Hinatazaka for next year.

 

Imo, using album's 1st day sales to determine Hinatazaka's growth is a very weak argument. You also should consider other factors, like TV appearance, TV show, partnership, projects for fans, and even branding.

But honestly this year has been very difficult for hinatazaka 46 , they had very few activities or performances as a group.

Seed and flower had made a lot of mistakes this year managing the group causing a drop in sales and discontent among fans.

Yes, I agree that Hinatazaka has difficult year this time. But, what I disagreed was 1st day sales = group growth. That is so wrong, in my opinion.

Also, just a reminder here, One Choice become the second highest weekly sales in Hinatazaka46 history, just a bit below Sonna Koto Nai yo.

I think things went wrong starting from Am I Ready. I read many fans complain because they use another English title, kpop style, and, for me, I don't like how they sing that song in very high note almost falsetto. After that, thing went mess up, including wrong choice of venue.
Tbh, the first half of 2023, they did great job, like Hinatansai and many other thing. According to survey, Hinatazaka even become one of top 3 idol groups with strong buying capability of its fan (this survey was held in April or during Hinatansai) beating Nogizaka.

But, let's be positive here. Management also did good things in pushing new gen, like Yoko with her show, HaruHaru and Houchan radio show, new programs, like Hinata Anime Club, Narimashow and HinaAcademy, also Lemino partnership give many benefits to fans to enjoy Hinatazaka.
Next year, let's hope for the best and I also have one wish. I hope they release a high tempo ska rock title song. It is suitable with Hinatazaka happy aura image. Plus, new center (Yoko onegaishimasu)

Interesting analysis of 2nd album 1st-week sales (156,728 copies) by Billboard.

The first line shows the average 1st-week sales of all albums in all regions in Japan.
The second line is the 1st album, Hinatazaka
The third line is the 2nd album, Myakuutsu Kanjou

According to the data, it said the 2nd album sales in the Kanto region (green color) significantly increased compared to the 1st album (1st-50.2% and 2nd-66.6%). However, the sales in other regions have decreased by 1%-2%, which is the reason why the 2nd album doesn't show a high number for its 1st-week sales.
It is a good thing that we can get from 2nd album. But, it doesn't justify how management messed up this year. With 4ki that comes from all regions in Japan, they should use them to promote the album/single in each region where they come from. I remember, Hou-chan even became the hottest topic in her hometown. Management should utilize that to spread the Hinatazaka name all over the country.
