Okada Kanna (Okapan) / 2nd Generation

I don't know where the nickname came from. I think she just came up with it herself when she joined HKT. She explained about the "panda" thing in the Hyakkaten episode where she was introduced.

@SnipaKill: Thanks for the picture! You know, Okapan seemed to love that ugly costume just because it had her name on it. She seemed to think this absolutely fantastic.

They aired the second part of the HKTxAKB mechaburi dodgeball and Okapan was lineman this time! Unfortunately they gave her a really lame joke to say. But she was still cute doing the opening sequence with Maichan. Here are some screencaps:



Also it looks like Okapan is back to Tonkotsu Mahou Shoujo Gakuin! (damn that name is long) Haven't watched the latest episode yet, but I'll be doing soon.

Okapan's bonus video was fun! Her plan was to tidy up her room in one hour. As you can see she failed miserably. The text cards during the video keep making fun of her, saying that she just put everything that was on the desk on the bed, then she transferred it all from the bed to the desk back again. I guess organization is not one of her talents, something I can totally identify with.

Also from this video I learned that she has an elder brother. She shows a picture of the two of them as little kids.

 

Okapan posted this two-shot with Ueki Nao recently. What is remarkable about this picture is that you can really see her blue eyes in it. Sometimes it's hard to notice it in pictures, but this time since she's so close to Ueki's face you can compare their eyes.

I also saw the picture below on 2ch. It seems to be from a magazine or newspaper, but there wasn't more information about it. Anyone knows where it's from?

By the way, the sidedish sherbet is the one they did on the cooking corner of Kyoukan Terebi when I was in it. It's a sherbet done by mixing Calpis and milk to a 1:2 proportion and freezing it, it has a mild aftertaste, and I made it home toooooooo

I was very moved to be once more in SukaHira before the PARTY ga Hajimaru yo stage ends.

It's been a long time since I had done SukaHira, so I was worried if I'd be able to do the "Skirt Hira" thing.

Kinda sad seeing them giving goodbye to the Party stage. It was their first stage after all, and they've been doing it for about a year now. But at the same time it'll be good seeing them doing different songs for a change.

 

Am I the only one who can't see any blue in Kanna's eyes in that pic? I mean like not even a speck of blue?

Okapan wants to be thin like Haruppi. She's stressing over some tapioca pudding all the while Haruppi just mentioned in her G+ that she like totally gorged herself upon an epic Pan's Labyrinth scary monster dining room table worthy feast.

 

For okapan, it's the whites of her eyes that are blue not the iris. The bluish tint may be more noticeable in this pic.


It was often brought to attention with her wide eyed gazes into the camera on her few TV shots but in recent photos it may be fading.

 

Oh wow I never noticed that. [shock] It's her sclera (white's) being thinner than normal that causes a blue colour like that. It could be due to many things but I'm sure it's pretty innocent in her case.

 

That is a very accurate description of Haruppi's dinner.

And what I also find funny is that in the previous post Okapan was raving about eating bread soaked in butter and sugar, which I'm pretty sure isn't good for anyone's diet... However, in today's posts below she talks more about her diet sacrifices, and she even says she's lost 2 kg!

As for her blue eyes, that is actually her charm point! Since I first noticed it, I cannot not notice it anymore, even when it isn't so prominent.

でも一回やる度に自分のできてないところや不安のあるところを見つけて、次に改善するべき点が出てくるので無駄は一切ないです！←

先日まいちゃんと休日に水族館に行きまして、たくさんたくさんお魚さんたちを撮ってまいりました!!!!!
The other day, on our day off, I went with Maichan to an aquarium and took pictures of lots and lots of fish!!!!

お母さんと夜ご飯食べにいきました☆★

I always thought there was something unusual about her eyes in some photos. And here I was thinking it was the white balance on her camera. Who knew, the girl's got blue sclera. Have I ever mentioned blue is my favorite color?

@Dreams thanks for those translations. [clap] [clap] Though I am disturbed to hear of yet another girl trying to "diet". Though glad to see her cheat the diet from time to time.

Yeah, I'm not excited about the dieting either. I mean, eating healthy is nice, of course, but there's no need to go starving. Specially when you're 16 and your body is still developing. Hopefully Okapan has reasonable parents who'll take her down a notch.

最初のお魚は"クマノミ"さん
Our first fish is the "clownfish"

クマノミはイソギンチャクを
おうちとして住んでいます。
The clownfish lives on the inside of sea anemones.

イソギンチャクには特殊な毒トゲがあるので、クマノミ以外の魚が触れてしまうと、死んでしまうくらいの強者っっっっ
Sea anemones have poisonous thorns, and if fish other than the clownfish touch it, they die. The clownfish is that stroooong

クマノミの表面はヌルヌルしていて特別な粘液で覆われているためイソギンチャクの影響を受けないと言われています!!!!!
They say that, because the external part of the clownfish is slick and covered with a special mucus, it doesn't feel the influence of the sea anemone!!!!

住む場所によって進化していく魚なんて凄いですね!!!!!!
A fish that evolves according to the place it lives, isn't it cool!!!!!

よくみると、クマノミがイソギンチャクにスリスリしてる可愛い一面もあるんですよ( ^^ )

Bird & fish master Okapan teaching the fans about fish. Too bad I already knew about clownfish, blame that Finding Nemo craze from a while back. Our local aquarium made big money on those fish.

And about that diet, I thought she meant it to counter her getting pimples, but it seems like it's not about that after all. I do however think that it's more a case of not stuffing your face full of sweets every day than about actually following a plan to lose weight.

 

I actually noticed it the first time I saw her... not the blue though... just the fact that they weren't white. IMO this would be a problem if she had light eyes... but her eyes are dark so it doesn't really matter.

I don't follow Okapan enough to be able to get a true sense of this or not... but is she bit of an airhead? LOL. And I don't meant that in a bad way... just that... does she have that occasional ditziness quality about her? [think]

Also... I don't know if anyone else sees it... but Okapan also kinda reminds me of a Japanese version of a young Sarah Michelle Gellar... aka... Buffy the Vampire Slayer. [rock]

 

@Aratafuru Yeah, I also sense the ditzy-ness in Okapan from time to time. Not to any extreme, but just enough to keep her lively and fun. And now that you mention it, I do see a bit of Buffy in her, must be the nose.

Thanks for the welcome @DreamingPebbles. And the translations. I hope she becomes fully hooked on the fishies and ditches the bird. I would be willing to tutor her on fish-keeping. Though I do mainly fresh water planted tanks. [rock]

 

Oh yeah, she does look like an airhead. I don't have any solid evidence, but she does give off that airhead vibe to me.

On today's posts, Okapan introduces another fish, and tries to translate a sentence to English.

今日紹介する魚は"キンメモドキ"くんたち。
The fish I'll present to you today is the sweeper.

体育の授業でいう、集団行動のプロなのだ！笑っ
This fish is a professional in group activities on physical education class! LOL

大体50～60匹で群れを作って、全員で同じようにくっついて動くことで大きい魚に見せかけ危険を回避しています！
By forming a group of approximately 50-60 fish and moving close together, they look like one big fish and evade hazards!

みんな曲がる時も全く一緒で
意気投合し過ぎて怖いくらいw
It's scary how they all move together when making a turn LOL

岡田も頑張ってキンメモドキの泳ぎについていったけど速すぎて途中でダウン笑(-_-
Okada too tried to follow the sweepers swimming, but it was too fast and I went down LOL (-_-

I was curious about that fish she mentioned, so I looked for videos of it. Here's a video from Japan showing a... flock, herd, group, whatever... of these sweepers.

Also, the way she mentioned the Pajama Drive performance tomorrow... Could it be that she'll be in the shonichi? That would be pretty nice.

 

When refering to a group of fish it is called a "school of fish". Just so you know. Also she wrote "I am sleep", I think she was trying to say "I am sleepy". Still very cute.

And YESH!!!!! Haruppi and Okapan in Pajama drive? Add in Annya, Mioten, and Sakuratan, and I would not care what the rest of the line up consists of. I would be one HAPPY fan. [nod] I am SOOOOO looking forward to an HKT rendition of Shonichi! [rock] [rock]

 

Thanks hjr! After I had posted I remembered that the correct word was "school". I actually learned that while playing World of Warcraft. (God, fishing on that game was so boring...)

And I'm looking forward to Pajama Drive too. I've been listening to the songs of this stage this week and they're great! I wonder what unit Okapan will be in. She has done "Kagami no Naka no Joan of Arc" before, on the Dome Tour, so maybe she will do this unit again (and maybe with Sasshi as center again!).
