Do sales from HMV count towards Oricon?

I've difficulties to understand.
Especially with 0ji59fun

 

Albus, I haven't seen the show, but according to what I've read, Meetan has such a challenge. If she doesn't sell 10,000 copies of her single, she's OUT.

I don't know exactly but I dare to say yes.

YesAsia and PlayAsia, for example, don't count.

But isn't this about copies? The ranking doesn't matter, right? Would purchases in YesAsia count, I wonder?

Come on, its not big deal, even when yes, 10 000 copies its a little to much, its just another sales strategy. This way they will know how many fans Meetan have, or at leat how many are moved for this... event.

I'll try to buy it as soon as possible, because I really curious about the song and PV, Im aware about this mess its all about; money money, but puff... What The Hell? Thats the real world.

Not much, but its the intention what really matters. You know, maybe she dont reach the 10 000, but then Akimoto could come up with something like: "You did it well Meetan, you put a lot of efort to sale it, so you still in AKB48 for a little more" Or something like that, all its possible, but all depends of what its better for the bussines or what they really have for her.

10 000 its just a number, a goal to push us (fans) to buy, fans always buy stuff, this is just... a new reason.

She won't get kicked out, I can assure you. Kicking her out with a challenge that she was kind of forced to accept is unbelievable, and if it were true and she did get kicked out, the fans wouldn't look too kindly at Mr. Akimoto (which may possibly loose fans).

It's just a marketing ploy. Everyone can go watch this weeks 0ji59, and see that they've built up some sad story (which maybe true, but probably over emphisized) as if she just ~*TRIED SO HARD*~ to get in, and to be in singles and be liked (like at that Mayu/Aika handshaking gathering and nobody shook her hand), letting everyone go 'omg don't be upset I'll buy your single'.

It's very clever (and very risky) to do such a thing, but without it, there would be no hope in HELL she'd get 10k. Chocolove didn't even make 10k in their debut single (it was like 9.5k for the first week sales), and that was their highest selling single.

Don't get me wrong though, after watching 0ji59, it kinda made me want to buy the single too, haha. It has made me a lot more interested in how this turns out.
