- January 1: KLP48 is officially announced.
- February 22: Arlee, Galeya, Jew, Khaimook, Mayji, Nall, Nammonn, Nana, Neen, Niya, Proud, and Saonoi join BNK48 as 5th generation trainees.
Auditions
- January 1: NMB48 announces 10th Generation auditions.
- January 23: AKB48 Team TP announces 5th Generation auditions.
- February 19: KLP48 announces 1st Generation auditions.
- February 25: CGM48 announces 3rd Generation auditions.
Kenkyuusei Promotions
- January 20: Cheng AnZi, Li JiaHui, Zhang JiaZhe, Zhang ShiYu, Zhang YiLin, and Zheng YuShan are promoted as full members of AKB48 Team SH.
- February 1: Grace Octaviani and Greesella Adhalia are promoted as full members of JKT48.
Departures
Notable
- January 28: Honda Hitomi graduates from AKB48.
- February 23: Sasaki Yukari graduates from AKB48. She was the last 12th Generation member to leave the group.
- February 25: Shimoguchi Hinana graduates from AKB48. She was the last Draft 1st Generation member to leave the group.
