Event / Concert Kouhaku Taikou Uta Gassen 11/12/05

On December 5th, popular idol group AKB48 announced through their official blog that they will be holding their own “Kohaku singing battle”!

AKB48 has been confirmed to perform at the annual New Year’s Eve music show, “The 62nd Kohaku Uta Gassen“, and they have also been promoting the show as a “supporter”. To prepare themselves for the big event, the group has decided to hold their own “Kohaku singing battle” themselves. Just like the original program, the members will divide into teams of “red” and “white”, and compete against each other.

AKB48’s “Kohaku singing battle” will be held on December 20th at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL. Tickets and other information will be revealed through their official blog at a later date.

Tickets will be on sale 6pm Japan time today till 6pm Japan time tomorrow for the AKB Mobile members if i am not wrong. as seen on the official blog here

It's a lottery - deadline is the second date/time. You can join the FC either by Japanese keitai or iOS/Android app.

I arrive on the 22nd - two days earlier and I could have tried for tickets

the title is misleading, i thought they're finally doing a concert at Tokyo Dome

I guess you're thinking of the Request Hour. That one is at Tokyo Dome City Hall, too. So not exactly Tokyo Dome.

Yeah I got confused by them to start with two best way to think about it is that the Tokyo Dome City Hall was called the JCB hall originally!

hmm, wonder how they are going to split the teams up? I assume it's going to be Team Yuko vs Team Acchan but past that......

I don't know how the Android version of the app works. The iOS version can be installed on any iOS device as long as you have a Japanese iTunes Store account for the monthly fee.

Feart not Gaijin fellas, once again this will be an event broadcast in movie theaters around all Japan. Also in Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.

Looks like this will become another regular event for AKB48.

The teams?... Mmmm... No info about the selection sistem, but what about Team Acchan and Team Yuko

i am pretty sure that no matter how they are going to split the teams, we will have acchan & yuko separated on either teams

surprised at this sudden event but it does seem fun~ hope they will announce overseas screening for singapore too.

i think there's no need to prove that they could sing...they have been singing for years already...but they need to prove that they could express their vocal to a certain standard by now...

This will be awesome!

Hopefully SKE comes along for the ride cause SKE has some really really good singers in their lineup and I can't wait to see some mashups if ever they do get invited.
