    This month will be hard for me. I don't like to pirate music but my copies won't arrive until around September 5th since I was saving money on shipping for multiple items. FFFFFFF ;∆;

No one really likes the black market version but it's the only way of getting it especially for those that don't have the money to afford Every one of their releases. It doesn't justify it but just saying. [aup]

Even if you can afford a couple of them, then that should be fine as well as that effort goes to help support the girls.

It's any wonder that anyone can really afford Every one of their releases so far this year considering how many items were released and the year isn't even over yet. :^^;:

I like free production of music that brings entertainment and enjoyment to greater numbers of people, what you call 'pirate.'

Marx predicted that capitalism would eventually refine productivity to such an extent that it would be impossible to squeeze profit from production and the capitalist economic model would hold back or retard production.

We are now at that stage of development in the music industry.

It costs nearly nothing to make infinite digital copies for everyone, yet capitalist laws would prevent such unlimited production for the enjoyment of all, because the capitalist does what he does for profit, not for human pleasure or happiness. The capitalist would deny entertainment to the poor just because the poor cannot pay for something that costs nothing to produce.

Fortunately the people of the world understand the benefits of free socialist production and we share with each other over an over. For this sharing, that costs no one anything, we are called outlaws and pirates. We are the future.

Supporting and paying the members we love has nothing to do with the number of sales,- they are on salary. So long as enough copies are sold to keep the business alive, they will be paid. I buy some things because I can afford it and I know that capitalism still holds back free production.

But if you cannot afford to pay- never feel guilty. Support the members with your love however you can. Enjoy what they produce- digital copies are not theft- they take nothing from anyone else. Digital copies provide the wealth of entertainment to millions that would otherwise not have it. If you can pay- buy what you feel comfortable with. We can support the members of AKB48 this way until the rest of the economy catches up and free production makes capitalism impossible everywhere.

^ You did watch the anime right? I'd have thought you'd find the one focusing on your own Oshi's character personally.

OK I admit it, I teared up a little watching that.
Now it might just be me but it looks like Lancastar might have changed for the better in the beginning.

^ Sorry I probably worded that terribly. And made some assumption you'd gone looking for it. Sorry.

Damnit, the 1st day sales are very disappointing. Only 18,000 copies sold on 1st day, it just seems like sub-unit single sales are just decreasing drastically. Lets hope 2nd day sales are better.

Its good enough to be #3 since they're up against SMAP but the sales figure is depressing for a start.

What is going on? even with the support of the anime & the great songs the result is not good, but I can see that it is not just AKB48's subunit & solo singers are affected, but also the other artist as will, like SMAP & EXILE, it seem like the Japanese wallets these day are in trouble.

That's so disappointing D: Even if it is just a sub-unit, I really REALLY love this single, more than I have some by the main groups. ._.
And you'd think with AKB fans support and anime fans support, it'd do better than that...
    Hopefully the sales get better!

I disagree. SMAP sold 10k more than their previous single, Sakasama no Sora (53k/1stday). EXILE is probably in the same situation with AKB, with their 2 singles only 1 month apart.

Then again, Kibou ni tsuite only has 2 versions, with no handshake/special event or somekind of fanservice, low sale is kinda expected. Just that, I thought they would managed to around 30k

Yeah, I expected 30K too but with no HS or anything, guess wotas are saving up for the upcoming releases.

I had to try a few shops to even find a copy, I think stocks were low in general and its not a major release compared to the others. Which is a shame because I'm more interested in this cross group subgroup than i am in any of the others. Plus I really like the songs too.

Hmm think it's more that the focus was elsewhere perhaps than on this single, this was seen more as a little bonus over everything else maybe and with none of the usual incentives to get people to buy this, it just seems as though it's not sold massivley, honestly doubt they were expecting a lot for it anyway......

if we use "anisong" as parameter, then this is already mid-high/high tier sales number lol.

Fans probably prefer Gingham and the album more than this. Not surprise
There's not that much push for the sub unit or anime either.

As an anime song, the sales are respectable.

    And don't forget:
    - the anime is not shown in big cities like Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka or Sapporo (and Tokyo only started it in July)
    - no handshaking event or any special event for the single
    - apparently there has been very little promotion on TV or magazine about the single
    - I also want to point out that distribution of anime song singles/albums is usually more limited than the general pop stuff.
