I respect you barilbaril [rock] You have done what many of us Canadian AKB fans could not...you have entered into the Paradise of AKB48, and have witnessed the wonders of it with your own eyes You are representing all of us now!! Make us proud my friend!!
I also give you my respect! One day i'll make there too, just gotta keep studying Japanese and make some contacts to find a job in showbusiness and it's gonna be awesome!!!!
Alright! let's meet there in a couple of year! What are your plans for Japan, what field do you work in?
I read about Comicon on Ottawa Citizen's twitter... Was it a big event? And about respect... LOL, I was just lucky, I guess, meeting my Japanese husband and moving over here.
Oh crap, sorry for not responding but i'm actually still in high school, wanted to go into music or something Btw, any of you guys going to Anime North next week??!! [shock]
Well, I was in Canada when I met him... and he was in Texas. Okay, so we met on the now-defunct Sakura Chatroom, a really crappy chat site (crappy, but I'm still in touch with 5 people from that site, two of which got married, like me). We wrote each other e-mails/used messenger every night for 3 months, then met in person (he was on a business trip in Boston and drove all the way to Ottawa) and we hit it off. After I finished my master's thesis, I joined him in the U.S., we got married and moved to Japan. I've lived in Japan for 12 years now... (I feel old, LOL!) Anime North, eh? No way I can make it!!!
Music industry you say? Do you play or are you a tech like me? @BarilBaril, oh that's nice, congrats on the successful wedding!
^ LOL, thanks! I'm so freaking happy, it looks like I'm going to travel to Ottawa this summer!! We were on a waiting list, but hubby managed to find tickets last night. He woke me up at 2am to ask me if I wanted them!! YESSSSSS!!! I haven't been home in FIVE years!!! Now I have to stop talking in Japanese at home and push French, or else my kids will be miserable for a month, LOL!!
^ Yeah, congratulations on the wedding!!! [rock] I'm glad to see that there are also Canadian AKB fans out there!! ^ ^ And I was actually thinking along the lines of sound technician, but still not sure yet [shock] I still have yet to find someone who actually likes AKB where I am... [worried]
Hey if anyones going to anime north on sunday you mind taking and posting pics of the cosplay charity event happening in the maid cafe in the morning, apparently all the maids are gonna dress as AKB00048 characters.
NOOO!! Crap, i'm actually going tomorrow instead and I don't know if any AKB stuff is gonna be there, but i'll try to take as many photos as I can and post them here Btw, anyone of you guys seriously going to Anime North tomorrow?? If you guys are, i'll post where I am here or something So excited, gonna be crazy!! [rock]
Any of you know a place where you can buy or order Japanese music CD/movies... in Ottawa? It might be cheaper even after their cut?
I wish I could help you... but I have NO idea. I used to buy Taiwan versions of (anime) CDs somewhere around the Somerset St. area... but I'm sure it's changed a lot since I left. I ordered my first ever JPop CD (L'Arc~en~Ciel, True) from an online shop based in Florida!!!
Did the store on somerset sell vinyls? there's a old record store there that has a variety of stuff (even video lazer disc...) and it's not run by hipster who only want lots of cash.... I'll give that place a shot, maybe then can order cds at a decent price...
