2017 in AKB48 Group

The following is a list of events and releases that occurred in 2017 by the AKB48 Group.

The AKB48 group continued its domestic expansion this year. NGT48, which formed in 2015, made their single debut with Seishun Dokei, while STU48 formed this year with an anticipated debut in 2018.

Members

• February 22: Okada Nana and Sashihara Rino announced for kenninship with STU48.
• March 19: Ishida Chiho, Ishida Minami, Isogai Kanon, Ichioka Ayumi, Imamura Mitsuki, Iwata Hina, Otani Marina, Ozaki Mami, Kai Kokoa, Kadota Momona, Kadowaki Miyuna, Kuroiwa Yui, Sakaki Miyu, Sano Haruka, Shioi Hinako, Shintani Nonoka, Sugahara Saki, Takino Yumiko, Tanaka Kouko, Taniguchi Mahina, Cho Orie, Torobu Yuri, Hyodo Aoi, Fukuda Akari, Fujiwara Azusa, Mishima Haruka, Mineyoshi Arisa, Mori Kaho, Morishita Maiha, Yano Honoka, and Yabushita Fu join STU48 as 1st generation members.
• December 8: AKB48 holds its fifth team shuffle AKB48 12th Anniversary Shuffle.
• December 27: Kodama Haruka goes on hiatus due to medical treatment.
