    ^ Wow nice pictures everyone!!!

I have been to Japan for three times. One to Hiroshima for an exchange programme, one to Osaka and Achi with my parents and one to Tokyo with my friends. The most impressed trip was in Achi because I have the chance to go to World Expo in Achi!!! The exhibition was AWESOME!!!

I wanna go to Japanese once more. I like Japan!!!

hell yeah! it's great! i went there too.
i guess you mean Aichi, not Achi.
i always go there.. Aichi just like my second home because my father's house is in Nagoya and my foster family's house is in Ichinomiya (around an hour from Nagoya city).

i am quite sure that Japan is worth the investment to make a trip, if you have time. I am already planning to hopefully go in 2008 again.

i heard that Tokyo-Japan being the 4th most expensive place in the world, but there are places where you still can budget and get the most out of Japan!

budgeting.....that's all it takes, airfare can cost upwards during the peak season around $1,200 give or take....maybe more., hotels....can be expensive, depends where, food, souvenirs...easily 2 grand for a week, possibily...depending of course what you see and do, and how much you want to actualy spend in Tokyo, Japan.

The AKB48 store, probably could not count as part of souvenirs, as i put this in a different category of spending...easily 20,000 yen in AKB48 stuff

Since there is my house in Nagano, Japan and my parents are there, I don't have problem with food or place to stay.
But it costs too much to go to Japan from the US.

My problem with taking a trip to Tokyo probably wouldn't be money so much as it'd be getting around. I know, I know, it's easy, color coded crap, blah blah blah... but every time I look at it, it looks like a nightmare, and I see Youtube clips of the train ticket machines and there's like no english, and it looks like it'd just be a nightmare. I've tried to make penpals in Tokyo for that purpose but have yet to find any that stick. I think I'd really need someone to guide me around. I'm sane enough to realize the anime and jpop Japanese I've learned over the years is pretty much useless and I know pretty much zero written. A phrasebook might help a little bit, but I'm pretty weary of that, too. I dunno, it'll still be quite a while before I have the money anyway.

You don't have to worry about language.
Even if you are fluent in Japanese, you will get lost at the train station when you go there first. haha :)

Maybe someone could start a thread to collect recommendations / useful information?

This is sort of a selfish request but I think it would even be interesting for those who have been there before and are going again.

I think we can keep it all in this thread, since it has to do with visiting/experiences in Japan.

what kind of questions did you have in mind about Japan that some of us can help you answer ??
