  • She was also called "Kawaei" and "Kawae" by the members, and "Eiko-chan" by Nakanishi Chiyori.
  • She was known for having foot odor. On variety shows, several members were forced to sniff her feet.
  • She is a former member of the unit AnRiRe with her good friends Iriyama Anna and Kato Rena.
  • She scored the lowest of all participants on test that was part of Mecha mecha iketeru! AKB48 Kimatsu Test. Being AKB48's "dumbest member" earned her the title "Baka (Idiot) Center". As a result, she was given the center position of BKA48 and the song Hasute to Wasute.
  • She is a member of the ksgk ("annoying kids") Senbatsu with Tano Yuka, Oshima Ryoka and Takahashi Juri, a popular joke between Team A members.
  • She was named the ace of the 11th Generation.
  • On May 25th, 2014, she and Iriyama Anna were attacked by a man wielding a handsaw during a national handshake event in Iwate prefecture. Rina’s right thumb was fractured and cut by the saw. She was treated at a local hospital, took a hiatus from many activities afterword, and did not attend another national handshake event for the remainder of her time in the group.     • In the music video for Oshiete Mommy she appears and dances with her arm hidden behind her back due to her hand injuries.
  • She announced her graduation from the group on March 26, 2015, declaring that since she could not participate in handshake events anymore after the Iwate Incident, she no longer felt fit to be an idol. Since then, she has focused on her acting career.
  • On May 17, 2019, she married actor Hirose Tomoki.
    • On November 8, 2019, she gave birth to her first child.
  • Since graduation, she has gone on to be one of the most successful AKB48 members and actress in her own right.
    • She has appeared in several NHK productions, including two Taiga dramas, and notably starred in Come Come Everybody, the 105th NHK Asadora series.
