- Before joining AKB48 she was a co-host of a 2012 Kumamoto regional TV program Kyoumi Shinshin Kazoku (興味しんしん家族) that showcased how people live and work around the prefecture.
- Before joining AKB48 she was a brand representative and model for SISTER JENNI and pink♡shower childrens' clothing lines.
- She auditioned for HKT48's 3rd generation and made it to the final audition, but decided to withdraw due to her modeling work.
- Fellow Team 8 members describe her as kind, easy to talk to, and dependable. Yoshino Miyu said that Narumi often helped her learn choreography, and Yaguchi Moka said that Narumi is the person she respects most.
- She is also known to act like a mother towards Miyazato Rira. She would even do Rira's laundry on overnight trips.

- In March 2016 she appeared as a regional voice actress for the McDonalds Japan animated video "Future I". She played the role of a new crew member. Her version of the commercial was aired only in the Kyushu region, as other Team 8 members voiced the commercial in their home regions.
- She was one of the 6 winners for the Line Stamp contest, after winning the "luck" test.
- She was diagnosed with coronavirus on August 1st, 2021. She resumed activities on August 10th, 2021.
- In AKB48 Sayonara Mouri-san it was revealed that she is always the last member to leave the practice room in the evening. Her reason is that she doesn't want other members to know where she lives.
- She shares a YouTube channel with Shitao Miu called “NaruTao channel”. They often post dance practices, behind-the-scenes videos, and talk segments.
- She was a member of the takoyaki team in the AKB48 Cooking Senbatsu Competition.

- On January 31st, appeared in the BUBKA magazine alongside Asai Nanami, Omori Miyuu, Kubo Satone, Taguchi Manaka, Hama Sayuna and Mukaichi Mion.
- On February 9th, had her first appearance on AKB48, Saikin Kiita? ~Issho ni Nanka Yatte Mimasen ka?~ (AKB48、最近聞いた？～一緒になんかやってみませんか？～).
- On March 31st, was part of the senshuuraku performance for Team K's RESET stage.
- On April 7th, appeared on AKB48 Sayonara Mouri-san (AKB48サヨナラ毛利さん) for the first time.
- On April 19th, officially became captain of Team 4 (Kuranoo Team 4).
- On April 19th, was part of the shonichi performance for Team 4's Thumbnail stage.

- On September 2nd, debuted as a member of UNLAME with the single I am I.
- On October 17, transferred to AKB48 Regular Members after the disbandment of Team 4.
- On December 31st, at AKB48's special New Year's performance at the theater, it was announced she would become the 4th General Manager, following in the footsteps of Takahashi Minami, Yokoyama Yui and Mukaichi Mion.

- On February 22nd, was part of the shonichi performance for the stage Kyou wa Dare ni Koi wo Suru?.
- On March 17th, officially became the 4th General Manager (Soukantoku) of AKB48, taking over from Mukaichi Mion.
- On March 31st, graduated from UNLAME due to her growing responsibilities as General Manager.
